Westshore Quilters' Guild Quilt Show 2023 - Sew Magic!

Friday, Oct. 13th. 10 - 5

Saturday, Oct. 14th. 10 - 4.

Admission: $10 (good for both days)

Gala Evening, Thursday, Oct. 12th.  $15 tickets to Gala include admission for both days of the quilt show.

Next quilt show meetings on zoom, Tuesday, September 12th at 7 pm and October 3rd at 7 pm.  If you are planning to put any hand made items in the Guild Boutique, there will be a short meeting by zoom on September 26th at 7 pm.  Download Boutique Guidelines and Inventory sheets here.  Members will receive an email with the zoom link.  Everyone is welcome!

Charity Challenge: Batting is available for the charity fat quarters quilt show challenge. Email Sue Sharock at with the size you need and she will make sure it is available for pick up on sew days.

Raffle Baskets/Silent Auction: If you have any items to donate for raffle baskets or larger items for the Silent Auction,
please contact Patti Kagawa at Volunteers are still needed to help solicit businesses for donations.
Remember, this is a community event! Allison will be approaching some quilt shops to request donation and/or use of
sewing machines. Please contact Patti if you have a donation or have a contact in the community who would like to make a donation.
Please check with Patti ( if you wish to go out into the community and ask for donations to
avoid multiple requests and missing potential donors.

A new "Sew Magic" Quilt Show Facebook page will be launching soon so we can let the public to see our quilt show plans. On the guild Facebook page and website, you will find the price tags and inventory sheets for the guild store (please ensure that price tags are printed on cardstock not computer paper). These will be available at upcoming meetings too. Sherri and Sue have lots of ideas for advertising. These will start being implemented soon.  Raffle quilts have been appraised and plans are in place to get the raffle organized!

Members In good standing can enter as many quilts as they would like (there may be a limit if the response is overwhelming).  Please note: quilts that were entered in our virtual quilt show for 2021 are eligible for entry into the 2023 quilt show.


We will use the same categories as previous quilt shows:

  1. Large (greater than 70” wide)

  2. Medium (50 – 69” wide)

  3. Small (up to 49” wide)

  4. Miniature

  5. Art Quilt (includes embellished)

  6. Hand pieced and hand quilted

  7. Wall Hanging Large (greater than 48” wide)

  8. Wall Hanging Small (less than 47” wide)

  9. Modern

  10. Mixed Technique (hand/machine pieced, includes sashiko, embroidery, applique, etc)

  11. Wearables

  12. UFO category

  13. Youth Exhibition
