A HUGE thank you to everyone who attended and volunteered for positions at our first two Quilt Show meetings!

There was a lot of discussion.  At this point we are leaning towards a 2 day event with the Gala.

The name and theme of the next quilt show was chosen: Sew Magic!  It will be a magical show with an enchanting evening Gala, a fairy tale themed Guild challenge and possibly the Block Game challenge too!

Before we make many more decisions regarding the show, we have to nail down our venue.  We have always held our guild shows at Eagle Ridge Community Center in the dry arena.  As we have grown, this is our absolute minimum usable space.  If we would like to expand our boutique and/or hold classes, we need to expand our venue.  I was very excited to explore Royal Roads and their new Conference Centre with the Ballroom and smaller conference rooms, but the conference center is not completed yet, no prices are available and they will only give 8 weeks confirmation as the school has priority for bookings. So at this point, Royal Roads in unfeasible.  If you would like to view the current quotes and reviews of possible venues, click here.

At the May meeting, the Charity Society will present the raffle quilts and the vision/plans for the raffle.  We will hopefully have all the info regarding dates/availability/rates for venues and can make the decision on where & when to hold the quilt show.

There are still many positions available.  If you look at the website, there is a generic Quilt Show tab for the public to look at, but in the Member’s Only area is where you will find the updates, timelines and meeting minutes.

If you have any questions or comments, or would like to volunteer – please contact us at wqgquiltshow@gmail.com
