2025 Quilt Show Challenges
Charity Challenge
The Charity Challenge for the 2025 Quilt Show will be introduced at the March meeting. For $5, the Charity Society will provide members with a package of four fat quarters. The challenge is to use at least half of each of the fat quarters on the front of the quilt. Fat quarters vary - each package is different.

Who has UFOs? Almost everyone! Jan Gillis is leading the UFO Challenge and has put together this great video to explain the whole process - it has all the details.
Here's what you need to know in a nutshell:
Step 1 - Sign up for the UFO Challenge in three easy steps:
a. Print and complete the UFO Challenge Contract anytime between now and July 1, 2024
b. Take a "before" photo of your UFO - in whatever state it's in - partially completed, some sewing done, cut fabrics, whatever.
c. Send the completed UFO Contract and "before" photo of your UFO to Jan at wqgufochallenge@gmail.com.
And you're in the UFO Challenge!
Step 2 - Complete your UFO between now and February 15, 2025.
Step 3 - Once you're finished your UFO, you will need to register it. Complete the registration form, click Submit, and your quilt will be registered to be displayed at the Quilt Show in the UFO category. A copy of your "before" photo will be attached to the quilt to show your amazing work in completing your UFO.
UFO Challenge Contracts and the "before" photo must be submitted to wqgufochallenge@gmail.com by July 1, 2024. Finished UFOs must be registered by February 15, 2025.
Questions? Contact Jan at wqgufochallenge@gmail.com for more details.
Block Challenge
The Block Challenge for the 2025 Quilt Show has the theme “Songs”. Please make your block into a flimsy only, and give it to Shar Lyseng by our Guild meeting on December 12th. Shar will assemble and quilt your blocks. The big reveal will be at the show!
Guild Challenge
The Guild Challenge for the 2025 Quilt Show is in part a celebration of the Guild’s 20th anniversary. The project must allude to the number 20 and use complementary colours (opposites on the colour wheel). It can be any shape but the overall circumference can’t be any greater than 96”, (i.e. 24" square or another variation adding up to a circumference of 96"). It also needs a hanging sleeve.
We can't wait to see all the creative entries at the Show!
Youth Challenge
Bonnie Boivin is asking members for their help in achieving a stronger showing than the 4 entries we had last year. The local youth must be sponsored by a guild member and be under the age of 16. As long as the item is quilted “anything goes”.
