Threadplay Pouch with Krista Hennebury
Friday, April 25, 2025 at COTA - 9:30am to 1:30pm
Cost: $90 (this includes a $38 kit including threadbox and pattern
This class is stand-alone or the perfect follow-up to my 75-minute Aurifilosophy lecture. Students will practice stitching by machine and by hand using the 5 different Aurifil thread weights in my custom Poppyprint threadbox. This includes 12, 28, 40, 50 and 80 weight threads as shown in the photo. Everyone will complete a quilted and lined zipper pouch with a QAYG (quilt as you go) panel and a threadplay panel. Safe preparation and installation of a metal zipper, hand applique, discussion of appropriate machine needles, tension tips and trouble-shooting make this an action packed class.
Disappearing Hourglass with Pat Brotherston
Pat will show us how to make a beautiful Disappearing Hourglass quilt. All you need are 20 – 10” squares of your feature fabric and 20 – 10” of your background fabric.

Joni will show you how to trace, cut, fuse, finish and quilt your project. You can purchase a kit which includes the pattern and fabrics, or you can purchase just the pattern and use your own fabrics.
Lion Applique with Cheryl Shaw

Cheryl will discuss adapting drawings to make your own applique pattern and work through the steps to a completed work of art. She will discuss how to choose your pattern/design and how to make it into a pattern for applique. She will also show you how to take a Zentangle pattern and make it suitable for applique. Poppy Art Class with Carola Russell
Saturday, November 22, 2025 at COTA - 9:30am to 2:30pm
Cost: $50
Carola will show us how to make a Poppy Wall Hanging. You will make a one of a kind Art Quilt after quilting the background, making poppies and finally embellishing the flowers and background with fine details.
Techniques included: Make 3-D crazy patch poppies, couched stems, 3-D flower buds, stitch French knot & hand beaded flower centers.
